St. Michael Orthodox Church.
A digital sanctuary for an ancient faith. We modernized the parish's online presence, moving from a cluttered information board to a serene, mobile-first experience that prioritizes worship and community connection.

Cluttered Signal, Hidden Sacredness.
The parish’s previous website acted like a crowded bulletin board rather than a gateway to worship. Critical information—like Divine Liturgy times and directions—was buried under layers of outdated nested menus and generic stock text. The visual design felt "Web 1.0," failing to reflect the profound beauty of Orthodox iconography or the solemnity of the service. New visitors often struggled to find the one thing that mattered most: how to visit on a Sunday.
Building a "Digital Narthex
I approached this build as digital architecture—creating a "narthex" (entryway) that prepares the user for the sacred. Using Framer, I built a high-fidelity "Reflections" CMS that allows clergy to easily publish homilies and readings without touching code. I prioritized a mobile-first "Plan Your Visit" flow, placing service times and the "Sacred Giving" portal front-and-center. The aesthetic now mirrors the physical church: using whitespace, liturgical colors, and high-resolution textural imagery (incense, icons, stone) to evoke reverence.
Modern Functionality, Ancient Tradition.
The new site bridges the gap between ancient tradition and modern expectation. Parishioners now have instant access to a synchronized calendar and digital stewardship tools, while prospective converts find a welcoming, intimidation-free path to their first visit. By simplifying the navigation and upgrading the underlying tech stack, we increased engagement with weekly homilies and streamlined the donation process, ensuring the digital presence supports the parish’s growth rather than hindering it.
